The yelp reviews definitely led us to this charming restaurant during our stay in Black Mountain. Our server, Emma, was very attentive and answered my questions regarding vegan options for my daughter. We ordered mussels, bruschetta, and the house made bread as appetizers. If you'd like to keep the bruschetta vegan, make sure to tell them not to add Parmesan(not listed on menu). Everything was very tasty and I definitely looked forward to the pizzas we ordered. The Scarface, Chèvre, and vegetable pizza(with vegan cheese) satisfied all of us. The crusts were crispy and delicious. The local goat cheese on my pizza was excellent as well. My cousin ordered the carbonara, but said it was pretty bland with quite a soupy sauce. I give the pizzas 5 stars, but the overall rating is due to the pasta dish as well as the very small space my party of 5 had to eat in. This place is most definitely worth a try if you're in the area.

Want the best Gluten Free Pizza in town? This is the place. Wood fired oven and great toppings. Our favorite albeit a tad on the pricey side. The space is not overly large so be early or wise on when you go and what day as it always appears to have the parking lot full at the key eating times.

Amazing gluten free crust! This is the best wood fired pizza in town. A little pricey, but worth it on a night out with a loved one. Cute, simple place with kind servers. We got the chevre pizza (sun-dried tomatoes, roasted red pepper, goat cheese and fresh basil) and a calzone - the pizza with the gluten free crust. They make it fresh themselves, which in itself is fantastic, and the texture is spot on. So good.

Delicious wood fired gluten free pizza? Heck yeah. Thin crust-chewy, crispy crust. Great flavor!! Super fast & great service. Xoxo Fresh!!

Fresh tomato marinara was great. Loved the house dressing -thought it was going to be sweet but was pleasantly surprised it wasn't. The fresh bruschetta was so good I wanted to ask for more.

Stopped in to take my wife for mothers day. A little taken aback of the actual building, looks like a small contracts trailer. Food was ok, but far from fresh. Service was horrible. The waitress who just jumped out of the 60's was rude and acted as if we were bothering her. The owner told us the tip was not enough (for the service none would have been good). He actually followed us outside, in front of other customers and told us the tips was the only way she makes a living. He told us to NEVER COME BACK. DON'T WORRY WE WONT. If that is the case find a different line of work, because serving the public isn't her Forte. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I ADVISE OTHERS NOT TO AS WELL. My Father's pizza and pasta is a much better way to go.

This is business is casual in nature. Love the displayed art work on walls and shelves. Everything is Fresh. The pizzas are prepared on fired pits like they were done in Italy. They claim to use only FRESH ingredients. You can watch your pizza cook in the wood fired hearth oven. The offer local microbrews. The area is getting pretty famous for its local brews. Almost as famous as Denver Colorado. They do offer homemade pastas and desserts. There will be a weekly chef selection of menus.

Great pizza - glad we stopped. We ordered three pizzas for lunch between four grown men and had leftovers. The BBQ chicken was great and the Napoli was a hit too!

The food was good, although I don't think the pasta was wood fired. : P Our server Emma was super friendly and offered us desert even though it was past closing.

This place is just ok. I got the basil alfredo pasta, which was kind of mediocre. I was expecting more basil (for SOME reason). I asked for a caesar salad with my meal instead of the house salad and I was charged $2 which I was a bit confused about because it didn't even come with croutons - it was just lettuce and cheese. I thought the waitress could have told me about the upcharge. The place was very crowded, which is understandable because it was Saturday, but they were running out of glasses and silverware, which was a bit less understandable.

Great food yummy pizza but service was poor this evening. I had to get up and get my own forks and napkins and had to ask for refill for drinks. Took about 7 min to get put on list for seating. There was no line and much confusion getting put on a list for seating very unorganized.

I went here on a vacation in Black Mtn. I had Italian last night at another place in Asheville and is was not good and wanted a redo. I would love for this restaurant to have a website. Makes it easier for orders to go. That being said the staff is great and super helpful. I got the pesto pasta with shrimp and chicken. I was starving. I also got a salad and a dessert but let's focus on the entree. Because after eating half of the entree I was stuffed and never tried the salad or dessert. The pesto was perfect and so was the penne pasta. We got a half order. More than enough pasta. Thanks to the person taking my order to recommend the half pasta order and not a full order. More than enough with leftovers. Starving so got two proteins. The chicken was overcooked and that is why it wasn't 5 stars. The shrimp was perfect. A gem of a place in black mountain. I know they are known for their pizza. But the pasta was great as well. Just don't overcook the chicken. Great place. Will come back next vacation.

Every time I drive out to the mountains, I make sure to stop here; occasionally, we stop here both on the trip out and the trip back. Hands down the best pizza I've had in the entire state. A hungry adult can eat one of these pizzas by themselves, but you'll be happier if you order three pizzas for a party of four. The thin crust on these pizzas are perfect. The toppings are--as advertised--as fresh as you can hope for. I've tried six or seven of their specialty pies, and they have been uniformly excellent...though I find myself coming back to the Scarface time and again.

This place has pizza that is mindblowing. It's quaint and the service is ok. The food quickly makes up for any lack of it. Add some prosciutto and goat cheese to one of their pies, the Madonna for instance, and prepare to cry with tears of sheer joy.

  • Jessica S.

Everything is fresh (as in the name), from their own or local sources. Delicious! Friendly! Addictive! If you want pizza, this is the place to go! Also family friendly. Child's cheese pizza is a bargain at $3.50... And our picky boy was devouring it!

  • Chris S.

It's not often you come across wood fired pizza done right. This place does it right. Along with great pizza they provide great local brews on tap. They brick oven is out in the open, you can watch them toss the pizzia and make it fresh. Everyone was friendly and down to earth. Give it a try, you will not regret it!

    (5)
  • Julie H.

The pizza was thin and poor quality. The toppings were cheap and not fresh. Nothing about it was "fresh" and it wasn't even hot. I will not be coming back.

  • Jamie S.

Delicious and fresh-tasting Italian food! I wasn't crazy about their bolognese since it has green peppers in it, but everything else was delish - the pasta, pizzas, subs, salad, & soup! Try their house dressing - it's a mayo base with wine; very good. Small place, so make a reservation if you're going with a group. Love that they have GF pizza and pasta and vegan cheese! Really reasonable pricing! Pizzas are typically around $13 and they're 16". Pastas come in half size ($8) or full size ($10) and both come with salads.

My family and I was traveling to Tenn. From East NC. And we were looking for some place good to eat. We def did not want the usual fast food garbage. So I pulled up Yelp and fou d this place. It is def a hidden gem. Small but quaint, and the food is great, out of the world. They specialize in gourmet pizza, but have pasta and sandwiches. My wife and I shared a white pie with garlic, mushrooms, and riccocta. Think crispy crust and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend you take some time and try this gem.

Such a gem in this tiny mountain town!! Great pizza, great price, and the staff was super friendly. I'd suggest the Madonna pizza!! Yumm

FRESH is the best pizza in WNC. Wood fired to perfection, vegan friendly and lots of veggie/salad choices keep us coming back again and again when we're anywhere near Black Mountain, Lake Lure or Asheville. Local brews available too. Located a couple of blocks from the main tourist area, I go there because their pies consistently continue to impress. Keep an open mind to the ambiance and servers as they can challenge your dining experience, then enjoy a great Pizza.

Best daiya vegan cheese pizza I ever had. Also enjoyed the olive tray and bread with olive oil side dishes. And you can see the pizza chef making the pizzas while you dine which was very exciting! Even the iced tea was awesome. How do they do that?

  • Grayson B.

Absolutely fantastic, I don't know anywhere, if any place, has better wood fired pizza. I mean, obviously we're not in Italy. We're in Western North Carolina, and this is where the good pizza is! I chose the Scarface, and all of the meats combined with the chese and homemade sauce! Highly recommended!

  • Ron H.

Great pizza and very cold beer. What's not to like. Tried the Italian nachos. Not bad but if they would add some pepperoncinis the the appetizer would be outstanding. The bbq chicken pizza with extra sauce was hot and the chicken was tender. Perfect end to a long day. Service was outstanding. Very helpful and attentive but not intrusive. For a different take on pizza, this is the place

  • Ann Marie L.

Love Fresh! Handcrafted crusts, local ingredients, and friendly staff. Our group of 10 split 5 pizzas and ALL were excellent. My favorite was the chèvre, featuring local NC goat cheese! Local beer options were also great. Salads were really good too and the house dressing is a creamy vinegar dressing that is unique and very good. Definitely will be back!

I'm not saying I would drive all the way from Raleigh *just* to eat here. But I might... and we always go when we're in town. This is some of the best pizza anywhere. Do not miss it if you're in Black Mountain, or Asheville. Or Raleigh.

  • Gaile O.

I love Fresh. The bbq chicken pizza is our family favorite. Their house made dressing is amazing. The desserts constantly change but are well worth asking about. Brushetta is great too!

I had the pleasure of eating at this place four months after traveling to Italy. We had the pizza Napoli and bread with olive oil and herbs. It tasted authentic and the local cheese and soft bubbly crust of the pizza made it more amazing.

Went here after a day long drive with a two year old. He was a little cranky when we got there. When we left he was flirting with the wait staff and his belly was stuffed. Great restaurant for kids. Casual environment. Pasta was so so. Stick with salads and pizzas. They were fantastic! Great wait staff, super friendly and helpful. Local brews. It was exactly what we needed after a long day cooped up in a car.

Delicious! We're traveling though from Atlanta and this is what all of the trendy, overpriced places back home wish they were. So good, fresh ingredients, handmade breads and crusts, true wood fire grill, really great prices. Awesome service, everyone is super friendly. Highly recommend!!

  • Matt M.

Great service and fresh ingredients for their pizza. As luck would have it, our waiter was from West Palm Beach, Florida, which is where I am from. He was extremely helpful on ordering tips and the four of us shared a Ceasar Salad and two pizzas. Take note, the pizza slices are very large. We had the Madonna (white pizza) and a Fun Guy (mushrooms). The white pizza was one of the best I have ever had and all the ingredients were FRESH as advertised. I wanted to try the Gluten-Free pizza crust ($3 extra), but maybe on our next visit.

Fantastic! We were staying at a Black Mountain B&B, and the innkeepers recommended. I am so glad they did. We had a stuffed calzone and a house salad to split between the two of us, and both were delicious. The house dressing is not a typical ranch (even though they do have ranch), but it was amazing. FYI: They also cater to gluten free needs. Great food. Highly recommend. Can't wait to return!

Such an awesome restaurant! My husband and I stayed in Black Mountain for a couple of days on our way to visit family for the holidays. We stopped in Fresh for a late dinner after a long day of driving. Everything was amazing. We split a spinach salad and a Mona Lisa pizza, which was to die for good. The ingredients were so fresh and it had tons of flavor. Super friendly service too. Wish we'd gone back a second night before we headed out.

Had the stromboi with pepperoni out on the patio. It was delicious, crust was good, sauce and cheese were great. Only one suggestion, could use more ricotta.

We had dinner at Fresh Wood Fired Pizza on Sunday night and it was really delicious. The pizza along with a side salad made a great meal. They were busy yet the service was excellent. I will eat at this restaurant whenever I am in Black Mountain. I highly recommend

I have worked in the service industry for 5 years so I know how hard it can be to be a server, with that being said I was blown away with how terrible the service was. Our waitress was rude and our food took forever! Which I didn't understand because there were not very many tables. Once the food finally arrived it was very good, I enjoyed the use of fresh ingredients but I was so annoyed that it took so long that it didn't matter. Overall it was not a good experience.

Inside or outside your experience is going to be unforgettable! We had a group of 14 which was tough to fit in their relatively small(considering the fantastic amounf of business they do) dining room. Our waitress however was very much so up to the task. She handled us with a very nice smile and made no mistakes at all. And the food... Wonderful doesn't do it justice. We had everything from the bread to the cheese board to the cheese sticks to pizza and pasta to the Italian nachos. Every single item was very impressive! I haven't been so impressed by a small restaurant in quite a long time. If you are ever within an hour of this place, just go!

We were headed to Ashville and used YELP to find this gem! FRESH is not too far off of 40, so it was quick to jump off the highway and grab some great pizza. The staff was really friendly and efficient. We were seated near the pizza oven, so we were able to see our pizza being hand-tossed, assembled and cooked. Everything was very fresh and the wine list had some strong selections. Really great crust with just the right amount of crunch and super toppings. We will return!

I visited there yesterday for a late lunch with my family group of eight and shared six really delicious pizzas. We opted for 2 Bayou, a Chèvre, Fun Guy, Madonna, Sicilian. I tried most of them and heard great things about the one I missed. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating to our requests. If I lived in the area, this would definitely be a regular dining stop.

I really wanted to like this place. It came highly recommended by my family, and looking at the Yelp reviews made me believe it was a solid choice. So, we wandered in on a fairly slow Sunday night with high hopes. Those hopes were even higher when I read the restaurant's philosophy on what amounts to slow food sourced locally when possible. Oh well, these things don't always turn out. I am willing to let a restaurant have an "off night" on either service or food quality, but honestly, this was off on both accounts. We should have been clued in when our server had absolutely no idea what cheeses came on the cheese plate, mumbled offhandedly, in a highly unmotivated way that she could go ask the chef if we wanted her to. Being huge fans of cheese, we decided to take the risk and order without the full information, especially given our server's (only enthusiastically given) description of the seasonal fruits that would be included. We didn't hesitate to order the spinach salad ($9 I believe in entrée size), because we're always fans of those. For a pasta entrée, we chose carbonara, as it was highly recommended by the family members who sent us. When the cheese plate arrived, our server unceremoniously plopped it down on our table with absolutely no explanation as to the identity of the 5 cheeses on the plate. I guess what she really meant was the she'd ONLY ask the kitchen what was on it if we wanted her to, even if we ordered it. To skip ahead a bit, we realized later in the meal that the delicious fruits described were actually not included. When we asked her about this oversight her response was "Yeah, we're out. We were really busy earlier today." Umm, wow. Ok. Now, back to dinner. At this point in the meal, we received the house salad that was an accompaniment to the pasta. Well, we were surprised, because we hadn't noticed that it came with one. Ok, so our oversight. I mean, maybe an experienced/moderately motivated server might have said, as we debated between the entrée and side salad size of the spinach salad, "Just in case you didn't notice, the entrée actually comes with a house salad as a side." But she didn't. Cool. Our bad. We asked for it to go to take home for later. Our server then returned with the smallest of the Styrofoam to-go containers (typical of most restaurants) and tried to jam the salad into it. She proceeded to spill it on the table as I tried to grab pieces and shove them in. We got our unimpressive spinach salad next. I suspect they're making a killing on this, because it is nothing special. I'd be shocked if the spinach was anything but mass purchased bags and maybe the cheese was local. Meh. At this point in the meal, I think we might have been brought water after having to ask for it. This is good, because the dish they call carbonara is anything but. In fact, it was one of the saltiest things I have ever put in my mouth. If you like your carbonara to be basically a watery salty cream sauce with bits of (maybe) pancetta (that look a lot more like country ham), then this is the place for you. My Italian grandmother probably turned over in her grave. And to top it all off, the person at the pizza oven began opening and unpacking Sysco boxes of veggies. This certainly undermined the claim of fresh local ingredients, which maybe they actually are, but who knows because they don't identify farms or specific sources on their menu. You might be saying to yourself, "What kept you from letting the staff know of your concerns?" Well, if our server had even slowed down when she blew past our table to ask if everything was ok, we might have. But she didn't, so we didn't. I would absolutely not recommend this place. One of the most disappointing meals I've had and some of the worst service, which in a tourist town is no small accomplishment. I consider two stars somewhat generous.

  • M H.

My Chevre pizza was delish. The little kids had grilled cheese which was unexpectedly on very thick sourdough and they didn't enjoy it (hurt their gums). My husband and 16 year-old thought their Marinara Pasta with Chicken and Tuscan Salad with Shrimp, respectively, were ok and on the bland side. I'd go back and stick with their pizza offerings, but I'd have to go by myself.

  • Lyle C.

Exactly what their name says. FRESH. Everything was great. Wood oven pizza was authentic and yet unique along with only farm to table ingredients used in our salads. My kids loved this place which is huge. Had to go back twice while on vacation.

  • Bill W.

We have eaten here twice when visiting my brother and sister in law and have always been satisfied. The grilled chicken sandwich was excellent. My son loved the Madonna pizza, my daughter lived the Chicken Alfredo and my wife loved the soup. Everyone was happy and filed for a fair price.

Overall: Good pizza. Comfortable atmosphere. It's nice to be able to watch the pizza being made. Complaints: Just that it took a very long time to get my water refilled. Comments: Get the garlic cheese bread.

BEST pizza in the area ( including Asheville) The service is always great and the pizza is SOOOO good! Lots of fresh ingredients and great crust.

  • Mike S.

We really loved this place during our spring break junket to Black Mountain. The pizza was terrific and they have stellar GF options. Did not try the pasta, so cannot vouch for that. Like most places in Black Mountain and Asheville, excellent local beer selections and decent wine options. Service was good, though both nights we went, the place was packed, with long waits. So though the wait staff were kind, they were stretched thin. Place is small so plan on waiting for a table on the weekends especially.

  • Cliff H.

They were very busy. Seemed to be a lot of locals judging that patrons were greeted by name. We started with spinach salads. They were fresh, delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately the local craft beer I ordered was out. The keg they had mislabeled. We both ordered William Hill Chardonnay. Very good. Made me happy they ran out of beer. For pizza we had chèvre with sausage. Oh wow, a real treat for the taste buds. With the crowded dining area inside, we opted for dining outside. Good atmosphere, and weather was great. If there was a downside, I would say it was service. At times we felt forgotten. Others ordered after we did, but got served first. At the end of the meal we were told to go inside to pay. We observed other diners paying at their tables. Inside was crowded with people waiting for a table, people getting take outs and me waiting in line to pay. Yes, I will go again. The food is worth putting up with the marginal service, and maybe our server just had an off night.

My husband and I ate lunch at FRESH while passing through Black Mountain. We split a Rose's pizza and it was delicious. The ingredients were so fresh and we saw the pizza come out of the oven. Our server was friendly and we got our food quickly but did not feel rushed. We would highly recommend FRESH to anyone in the area.

We decided not to do the touristy thing at the Veranda, and asked a local shop owner where the best place to eat was. She quickly answered the Fresh wood fired pizza place a few blocks off the main square. She promised we would love it. This was hands down the best pizza I think I've ever had. Your pizza is hand tossed and prepared when ordered, and the topping selections are fresh and plentiful. They will happily customize any pizza to your liking. The sauce is so fresh, the crust so light and crisp from the wood fire oven, the cheese so high quality and delicious....I was left with lingering thoughts of this pizza all day. The waitress will tell you a medium can be shared by two if you also have salad (which looked amazing), but be greedy and order your own, you won't want to share a delectable bite! I can not wait to get back to the charming town of Black Mountain to eat here again, and might just have to back before this trip is over! Oh, another GREAT thing about this place, a sign outside that welcomes you to bring in your leashed and well behaved dog! How awesome is that!

My wife and I went out to Fresh after just arriving a few hours prior in Black Mountain. We happened to arrive the night of the "Holly Jolly" festival and realized that everything was going to be packed. The place only has about 13 or 14 tables in it so when we walked in saw a full waiting room, we knew it would be a while. We waited about 30 mins or more for a table. I would imagine this situation is much more comfortable during the summer months as there are a ton more picnic tables and small tables outside. The menu is pretty large and has a lot of great choices. We took the menu's advice about a pizza being large enough for two if you get an app or salad to share. We ordered the tuscan white bean and sausage soup, which was excellent. It is a broth based soup with some small veggies, white beans, really good sausage and some fresh herbs. They provide two slices of bread with it which was also excellent. We then ordered the Napoli pizza that comes with very fresh roma tomato "sauce" which is just chopped tomatoes and they were fresh and excellent. it also had brie cheese, prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes and roasted red peppers. It was an excellent choice. The pizza came out very quickly from the 800 degree oven, it has a nice char on the top edges, with a good fluffy crust on the edges and a nice thin middle crust. The bottom has a good level of flavor from the oven on it. The service was okay, I attribute this more to the fact it was packed all night. We needed an extra item at the table, which didn't come until after we needed it, and refills were not quick either. I was not overly put off by this as again, they were slammed due to the crowds and everyone was busting their humps all night. Over all I would gladly go back and my wife commented that if we lived here, I would be getting take out a lot, esp so we could start trying some of the pasta, which looked excellent.

Had the pleasure of trying Fresh in late July when we were in town for the weekend at a mountain bike race. We went pretty early so were quickly seated and served. The small dining area has a lot of clutter around, but it was good to sit near the actual pizza oven. Our server seemed a little clueless about some of the menu offerings, but she was super friendly. Best of all, the pizza was very good.. We'll definitely return and in cooler weather would look forward to sitting in some of the space outside.

Awesome, authentic wholesome food. Salads are incredible, pizza was great with that subtle taste only a wood oven can give. Staff was over the top friendly and attentive. Can't say enough good things about these guys.

Scoped this place out on the web before heading to the mountains for a retreat weekend. Ate lunch there 2 times during the weekend! Pizza and stuff: The Madonna - absolutely delicious Rose's - fresh and really terrific taste The Tuscan salad - my pick for a rather tasty salad Bread with garlic and herb oil dip - we had 2 orders at each meal and there were only 5 of us! Meatball Sub - 2 thumbs up Servers were attentive and friendly. Owner is super nice. GREAT PLACE in a great town! I think it is only 15-20 mins from Asheville, NC

Excellent wood fire thin slice pizza. Local home grown toppings. Ovens observable from dining area so you can watch your pizza being cooked. Service was excellent and very fast for homemade specialty pizza. Do not overlook the selections of homemade desserts. Must visit if in area!

If your looking for something with a twist this is definitely the place to go. Tried the portabella sandwich. It consisted of grilled portabella mushrooms, a goat cheese spread, avacado, baby spinach, and sprouts on a sub roll. It was definitely different but delicious! Friendly wait staff and laid back atmosphere as well...Will definitely go back and venture out again as their whole menu is very different than the norm.

Best wood fired pizza in a 60 mile radius! It's a small place, not a lot of tables, so get there early or you will be waiting for a while. Pizza and salads were great. Pizza was as good as wood fired pizza gets in my opinion. Lots of fresh toppings on our two pies. I feel this owner will be looking for more room soon. I drove about 60 miles to try this place and I will be back, OFTEN!

  • Deb C.

Pizza perfectly cooked and friendly service. If you sit by the kitchen, you can watch the pies being thrown by the cooks. Restaurant could benefit from a front door manager. Waitresses were apparently also expected to hostess, so no one actually "owned" greeting and Expediting seating. Two parties left before being seated while we were waiting.

Delicious salad, past and wood fired pizza. We started our meal with the olive tray, fresh bread and oil. It was absolutely fabulous. Then we moved onto two pizzas, the Madonna and the Veggie. Both pizzas were delicious. All the ingredients were "fresh!" The crust is OMG! Our super duper friend Jen enjoyed a huge side caesar salad and a side of pasta that was huge. I had a taste and it was fantastic! The staff (including) the owner and the ever so talented E.C. were very friendly and down to earth. If you are visiting Black Mountain (or Asheville) or any town nearby and you want a great meal stop in and enjoy! We will definitely be back. We have a few more appetizers and pizzas we would love to try.

Had dinner here and loved it. Had the Caesar salad, the Madonna pizza and a glass of the Sangiovese. My dinner companion had the Tuscan white bean soup, house salad and lasagna. The place offered inside tables and al fresco dining. Chose inside and vibe was warm and upbeat. Everything was delicious & "fresh" as the name infers. Food & wine portions all generous. Would def recommend & go back.

Try the Tuscan Salad and the baby blue pizza (blue cheese, carmelized onions, pears) Both were great and an unexpected find. Great new place for Black Mountain.

Came to black mountain for Veterans Day weekend. We looked on yelp and this place sounded really good! The name really expresses this restaurant- all the ingredients were really fresh like the creamy pizza sauce and the mozzarella cheese. The pizza crust was very crispy! It was also very cool to see the chefs make the pizza. The decorations were very cool and unique. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes pizza. The noodles were also very good and fresh! I love this restaurant!!!

Great pizza as always. We only get to Black Mountain 1or 2times a year and always eat at Fresh. We drove from Blowing Rock today for lunch.

Very good. Staff friendly and helpful. We had pizza, calzone, pasta with meat sauce, olive tray app, and a salad. It was all great.

I absolutely loved the pizza. We had the barbecue chicken and it is the best I've ever had. The waitress was a little slow at checking on us but all in all a great place to check out if in Black Mountain

A little more pricey than I would like, but the pizza was some of the best I've ever had (and that is coming from a baker specializing in pizza dough).

This is really good food with made-from-scratch flavors. I've only eaten here when it is really cold out, and it is such a warm and cozy place with yummy smells!

OFF THE CHARTS, was in town for a half marathon. This is the place to go the night before a race. Fresh food from a great owner and staff. Sad the wife and I had to drive 13 hours to find a place like this...

Visited on a Thursday afternoon after normal lunch hour and they were still very busy, but the service and food was very good! We had a veggie pizza and salad. Both were very good, just the right amount of dressing on the salad and the pizza was quite good. A little out of the way in Black Mountain, but worth the drive. Thanks! Will be back!

My husband and I travel to Black Mountain at least twice a year as it's one of our favorite places to vacation. Fresh has some of the best pizza we've ever had. They use fresh and local ingredients, their servers are nice (although it can be a little slow if they are crowded), and that wood-fired crust is just awesome. My favorite pizza is the Rose's while my husband's is the Scarface. Also, their fresh baked bread with olive oil is fabulous! Props to the owner for running a top notch restaurant - it's definitely a must visit if you're in the Black Mountain/Asheville area!

We started withe the olive tray which was great. We had 3 pizzas which were all really good. We had the Mediterranean, which is spinach, olives, and pesto (if I recall correctly). The 2nd pizza was the meaty one. The 3rd was the Fun Guy (with seasonal mushrooms, get it?). All the pizzas were really nice. The only complaint was that the staff seemed a little confused while trying to get people seated. Overall this is a good place.

Awesome wood-fired pizza, local ingredients, great service, $4 draft beer -- definitely worth a visit! We started with the olive tray and a Tuscan salad, both delicious. Loved the lemon-parsley vinaigrette. Ordered three different pizzas, all thin crust (hooray!) each delicious. They are listed as individual servings, but are generously sized and cut into 6 slices, perfect to share between 2 people. The Fun Guy (wild mushrooms, ricotta, loads of fresh basil) was *amazing* and the Baby Blue? was unique and also delicious- can't remember the clever name but was topped with blue cheese, carmelized red mushrooms, and sliced pears. Very rich flavors. Food came to our table very quickly, even through they were busy and most tables were full- the kitchen was hustling! Kids' menu had several options and they were very accommodating. Tried the Amber Ale from neighboring Lookout Brewery (literally across the street), very good and a nice break from all the hoppy IPAs that abound. Would definitely return for that Fun Guy pizza!!!

We picked up 2 pizzas after a long trip. The Rose and The Napoli. Fresh ingredients: basil, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic. Thin crust. and delectable. Savory sauce. Friendly and helpful staff. All good.

Has to be some of the best pizza I have tasted in the country. Service was spectacular. Environment was cozy. It feels like you are sitting in a mountain cabin kitchen. When you eat their pizza you can tell the ingredients are fresh. I should also add this place is very kid friendly. I do appreciate the local beer they have on TAP. The size of the pizza is also enough for 2 which makes it easy on the wallet. My wife and I enjoyed the Chevre pizza which includes sun-dried tomato, fresh basil, local goat cheese, and mozzarella. It was really cool that my wife and I were able to sit close enough to watch the cooks actually prepare and cook the pizza. If your in the area check them out. You won't be disappointed.

Stopped in with family and just loved the food at first bite. Had the bruschetta and it was so good. Then we had spaghetti and meatballs and one of the pizza. All so was good. Will become a regular in our rotation of places to eat out.

My husband and I stopped by here based on yelp reviews. It's a great place and worth stopping in! We both ordered pizzas. The pizzas use only fresh ingredients and are actually quite large for one person. My husband and I ordered the Napoli and the Veggie. Both were excellent. The only reason I took off a star was for the service. We waited 15 minutes for our waiter to take our order and another 15 for our food. I think it was just a busy night. My husband and I can't wait to go back!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
